Erika Montague is an oceanographer, explorer, and advocate for ocean health technology. With a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins and a postdoctoral fellowship at MBARI, her research focused on developing innovative, non-destructive techniques to better understand the marine environment. Erika has promoted ocean solutions through Katapult Ocean and Schmidt Marine. She advises diverse networks on the strategic development, investment and communication of ocean-related technology to meet the needs of science, government, and industry. Her service includes past and present board memberships with the Marine Technology Society and the Carbon to Sea Initiative, advisory roles with groups like Creative Destruction Labs- Atlantic and Explorers Club fellow.
